Prayer is more powerful than we may realize and is of major importance in our life here on earth. Prayer is how we communicate with our God, grow in God, and bring blessings down from heaven to our families and friends and loved ones, and in a larger sense, to people all over the globe. Prayer is designed to reach the heart of God, and God promises that He will listen to all our prayers. Some of His answers may be “no” or “not yet” but He takes each one seriously because of His great love for us. Sometimes we may not like the answers but we trust that God has a way for everything to turn out for good for those who trust in the Lord. (God has promised this!) Questions That God Will Ask You When You Die

This is the pivotal point of the whole book, the reason that this book has been written. God will ask you two questions:
#1 – What did you do with My Son, Jesus Christ?

#2 – What did you do with all the gifts and talents I gave you?
Your answers will determine if you will go to heaven or hell. These questions are that important!

Prayer – the prayer that is the most important prayer in your life!

The Light is Jesus Christ Himself! He is the Light of the World, the Way and the Truth and the Life. He wants to give you the free gift of eternal salvation! Please accept Him as your Lord and Savior so you will live with Him forever in heaven!

Decoding the Story: Section Key

The Journey

Follow along with our “average family” as they walk through time and space in their search for the purpose of their lives. The Journey is somewhat biographical about my husband’s struggle with cancer, but no names were given so it could apply to anyone in the world. Our journey through life can be difficult, as we struggle to find meaning in life.

The Phases of the Journey

Each phase has its own name and struggles. In this book there are 20 different phases, specific to the average person and family (the common man). These are feelings and fears and struggles that anyone in this world may be going through and how we face our challenges, we can grow into God’s love. Can you find your specific circumstances in these phases?

The Rocks

Ah – the mysteries and challenges of the rocks, representing the problems and obstacles that people face in their journey through life. I purposely left them vague in the story, but they may be physical problems, mental problems, social problems, marriage problems, evil, despair, depression, fear and so much more that mankind must contend with in this world. I don’t name them in the book and I hope that the reader can relate to these rocks in the road, examine them, face them, grow as you face these difficulties and become a stronger person. We all have rocks in our paths, for sure!

The Physical Death

My husband’s death really turned my life upside down and I struggled with it for a long, long time. His death birthed the need for this book – I was desperate to make sure everyone can know how to come to Jesus Christ in this life and then enjoy heaven in the next life. This need spurred me on with compassion for people who may be struggling. The physical death is the actual death of a person, expected death and unexpected death. Death is inevitable in this life and can only be endured with your hand in God’s hand. I truly pray that all of you will have eternal salvation through Jesus Christ.

The Spiritual Death

This death is hell. Plain and simple. Hell completely shuts you away from God, and in your misery you realize that you did not make time for God and Jesus, and now you must bear this searing pain through all eternity. You are shut away from God. This death is NOT inevitable and we can do something here on this earth while we are still alive to help ourselves and our family and friends and loved ones. Oh – the great need for people to know God!

The Call

Yea and amen – the mystery and the power of the Call. I hint at what it could mean in the book but I don’t actually explain it. Is it the call to heaven from God? Is it the call to heaven from the Church? Is it a call from heaven to mankind? Is it the Bible? How do you realize this call? What if you miss this call? But in my heart I believe that it is the heartfelt call from a man or woman or child, in depression, stuck in hopelessness and futility, when he/she actually calls out to God, even if he doesn’t know if God will actually hear him or answer him. This is a double entendre and so very important in the book and in our lives. You must individually make that call….. How and when and why? That will be your choice.

The Trinity

Our God is a God like no other, the God of all gods, the power that holds the universe together and lives in infinity, past, present, future. He is, He always was, and He always will be. The Great I AM. I hope you will take a special look at the three individual Persons in the Trinity as they can relate to man in desperation, depression, despair, even joy – each Person has a special relationship to man’s needs as he/she journeys through this world to eternity. I needed to explain this magnificent concept because, in your prayer time, you can pray to God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, or to the Holy Spirit, for they are all one and the same God, even though they are different from each other.

The Prayers

Prayers are everywhere throughout the book. Some prayers are simple and informal, some are structured, some fall into the category of the “sinner’s prayer” and some may have no structure or form other than simply breathing out the glorious Name of Jesus when in a panic. Prayer is your heart reaching out to God Himself (and Jesus and the Holy Spirit). Prayer is the way we can handle much of our rocks and help bless others in this world.

Eternity

Oh great joy! this is the major thrust of the entire book and all mankind will share in eternity in one way or another – in heaven or in hell. Life on this earth is just a “practice” or a “journey” or a “preparation” for eternity, for which man must prepare in this life. It is the subtitle to the book and it should be the major goal of everything we do here on this earth. We only get one chance to get it right – to get to heaven – so we’d better look to Jesus, our Way and our Life, and get in a right relationship with Him while we are still alive.
